“How have you been? Has everything been well? I am sorry for asking so many questions but I am just happy to see you.” His whisper was a strong quality she always loved and one she thought would be always soothing. Her grip around his body became loose.
"I thought you left," He muttered against her, face having moved to rest against the top of her head. His own grip stayed as tight as it was, not daring to let go in case he loose her again. "I missed you so much.”
“Don’t cry, You will make me cry if you so that. Malfatto…” She removed his mask gently to see if he was actually in tears or not. It didn’t matter. It didn’t matter at all if he was or not. Her lips came to his after a pause, not believing this is actually possible after such a length of time.
"I’m not crying." He huffed and wiped at his eyes before gratefully pressing his own lips against hers. Oh, how he missed this. Her kiss, her touch, her taste- her overall everything. "I missed you." Malfatto whispered against her lips.
Her arms shook as they too opened for her long time away from him. It seemed so artificial and unreal to have him back in her life again, her lovely husband, Malfatto. Fabiola’s lips went into a delighted smile that seemed to give any sign of fading. “I’m home! I’m home. Malfatto, dear, I’m home…”
Within moments she was scooped up from the ground and held tightly in his arms. She was really back, wasn’t she? Back home with him. Back home within his arms. “You’re back." His voice broke as he spoke. …Was he crying? Perhaps. He was just so happy to hold Fabiola again.
Come and get your bleedings! Half off for a limited time only!
“You’re home." This must be a dream. Was she really there? "You’re home." The doctor repeated again and took a few steps closer, arms reaching out to touch the other.
Like most birds, the doctor had went south for the winter. But it was not because of the cold, after all the cold always bought in good money so there was little reason for him to escape from it. Plus with his uniform he did not get too cold quickly. The cold did not drive him away.
The true reason for why he left was because of research, to learn more things. What things he learnt he would not say, only that it would improve his skills as being a doctor. He met with another and studied for a few months with no word being sent to Roma and without getting any news from there. Even though he didn’t want to admit it, but Malfatto was out of the loop and even with all this new knowledge and skill he now held could not do much good. His home was not the same as he had left it and there was some fear of what the Borgia would do to him. After all, they did not really say either yes or no to his little trip. The masked doctor might run at times but that did not mean that he would flee from this little thing. If he was to get more lashes, so be it. Right now all he cared about was finding the key for his door and going right to bed.
Tomorrow he would inform the Borgia that he was back. Hopefully he was not replaced and had no need to them anymore. Their money was needed in his life after all.
Catching sight of the dottore she screamed in terror and tried to run away.
"……Hello to you too." Malfatto mutter to himself, watching as the child run off. There was no rush to chase after her with a scream like that.
Noticing the masked dottore trailing behind him he turned around nervously. “Umm, buongiorno, dottore. Do you need something?”
"Where are you heading, child?" He asked, peering through the eyes of his mask down at the child. He looked.. he looked like someone he knew.
